1. Regatta Dates and

2. Eligibility, Entry
& Entry Fee
2.1 Each participant shall be under 16 years of age during
the entire series and must be a member or participant in a California Youth
Sailing Program.
2.2 Entries for the 2008-2009 Series must be filed with
the Series Chairman along with entry fee for the series. An entry with each individual host club must
also be completed for each individual Regatta in accordance with the Notice of
Race for each event.
2.2.1 A participant may enter the 2008-2009 Series at the
first or second scheduled
Regatta but no later than the
start of the first race of the second Regatta.
Participants may enter any Regatta after the first two but will not be
scored for the Series. There will be a
$10.00 Series entry fee payable to BAYS.
3. Rules
3.1 Each Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of
Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing, the USODA Class Rules, this Notice of
Series and Sailing Instructions issued by each Host venue.
3.2 Decisions of the jury or protest committee are final.
4. Scoring
4.1 The Low Point Scoring System, rule A2, will apply with
20 or more races scheduled. A “Did Not Compete” (DNC) is defined as not
registering for a Regatta and shall be scored the number of entries in the
Series plus one. A “Did Not Finish”
(DNF), “Disqualified” (DSQ) and “Did Not Start” (DNS) will be based on the
total number of Series starters in each individual Regatta.
4.1.1 Series scoring shall be based on the official
results of each race tabulated only against other Series entrants.
4.2 Throwout races will be
incorporated into the Series scoring with the following formulas:
If 16-20 races are completed, there will be 1 throwout.
If 21-25 races are completed, there will be 2 throwouts.
If 26-30 races are completed, there will be 3 throwouts.
If 30 or more races are completed, there will be 4 throwouts.
4.3 Sail number changes in any regatta must be reported to
and approved by the Series Chairman (or representative) and reported to the
race committee prior to the skippers meeting for that Regatta for those races
to be scored in the Series.
